Introducing Tracy (And Martha)

I have always had a love of both art and sewing, becoming the proud owner of my first sewing machine age 7. I studied art and dressmaking in my teenage years before circumstances in adulthood lead me down a different path.

After a long career in retail, operational management and as an NHS trainer and team leader, I was lucky enough to take a year out (thanks to a very supportive husband).

Living at the edge of the South Downs National Park, I (along with my side kick, Martha, the Cockerpoo) was able to STOP and BREATHE, and enjoy the beauty that the Meon Valley provided.

Since I was born we have been hearing about the damage humans are doing to the planet and I have always tried to "do my bit" minimise my carbon footprint. Repairing and reusing/re-cycling and using natural chemicals for beauty and household cleaning where ever possible.

My research into ecologically friendly practices unveiled the world of dyeing fabric with botanicals. This new found knowledge, coupled with my life-long passions, opened a new world where fashion doesn't have to be "fast" and Tinctura Amica was born.

The work of Nicola Brown and Irit Dulman has been inspirational and I continue to learn new techniques with every item produced.

As an educator I know how vital feedback is in order to grow and I would love to hear your thoughts.
